Renew is a verb, and it promises something narrower than new.
Nothing leaves this counter new. A heel goes back to the height it was cut at. A sole that stopped gripping is replaced. A zipper that stopped closing is swapped for one that closes. Six days a week that is most of what happens here — shoes, boots, handbags, belts and small leather goods coming in used and going out working.
Footwear fails in an order
The heel goes first, at the outer back edge, because that is where most people land. The outsole thins next, under the ball of the foot. The lining wears through at the heel pocket, quietly, until a sock says so.
The zipper brings in the rest
More otherwise-sound boots arrive over a zipper than over any other single part. It fails at the tape and the stitching that holds it in, not usually at the teeth. None of that is visible in a photograph. We see it from our side of the counter.
What we check on arrival
The boots we stock are ready-made and ordered in. Every pair gets opened here before it is listed: the zipper run clean end to end, the shaft standing at the ankle, buckles and straps stitched down and square.
Repairs are handled in person at the Nanuet counter only — they are not sold or booked online. The boots listed on this site are stocked inventory with polyurethane uppers, held here and shipped from Nanuet.
